Mini Effect Gizmo Channel

I’m currently facing an issue while configuring the loops on my RJM Mini Effect Gizmo.

• I’m not sure which MIDI channel my unit is on.
• I followed the steps from the manual: held down button 1 and powered on the device.
• The light flashed 2 times and then stopped on button 5.

From this, I assumed the unit was set to MIDI Channel 5, so I entered Channel 5 in my VOES MIDI Editor FS — but it didn’t work.

My question:

Is there another reliable way to figure out which MIDI channel the Mini Effect Gizmo is actually on? Or could I be misunderstanding what the light sequence means?

If only the LED for button 5 was on, that indicates MIDI Channel 1. Button LEDs 1, 2, 3 and 4 indicate the MIDI Channel. Button 5 indicates the Continuous Controller or MIDI CC range. You can press Switch 1, 2, 3 and 4 to select which MIDI Channel you want the Mini Effect Gizmo to respond to.

The manual has a chart that explains which buttons correspond to which channel. I've attached that chart here.
