Subject: USB Connection Issue with 2 MEG Units

Paul here from Guitarsystems in the Netherlands.

I’m building a system for a customer with 4 MEGs. Two units work fine, but the other two do not establish a USB connection. I’ve already performed hard resets on the problematic units.

Here’s what’s happening:

  • The units don’t power on (the green LED on the front does not light up).
  • They only power up when connected to an external power supply.
  • Even then, the USB connection does not work.
  • I’ve tried several different USB-C cables without success.
  • I also performed SMC resets on my MacBook(s) to reset the USB controllers.
For context: I’ve successfully programmed many of these units before without issues. Normally, I can connect them directly to the computer via USB for programming, but with these two units, I cannot get any connection.

Do you have any suggestions on what I can try next?
It’s important to note that the other two units are functioning normally.
