Weird midi issue pedals / chase bliss

Just got the new CB Brothers AM.

When switching on different presets, weird behavior happens. If I keep hitting preset 1 for example, it togglels channel 2 on the pedal off and on for no reason. Also, the pedal seems to be receiving MIDI clock from tap tempo which flashes channel 2 like crazy even though the pedal doesnt have any midi clock features.

But the main thing is I have to keep hitting the preset until the channel 2 doesnt light up (for a preset where only channel 1 should be active and not say a channel 1 and 2 stack).

No matter what buttons I hit,. it does this to the pedal, even when changing presets where the pedal shoulsnt even be doing anything (like when switching 2 a prset without the pedal loop engaged or sending anything to it. I have send on preset change off on all buttonns right now, and I have temporarily disabled midi clock send/receive.

Are you sure that it's set to the correct MIDI channel? Setting its MIDI channel is much easier to do incorrectly than it is to do correctly. This video explains it:

Also, make sure that any button that has Send on Preset Change turned on is supposed to have it turned on. Having it turned on will cause all sorts of weird behavior if you didn't intend all of those buttons to be sending their messages every preset change.

Have send on preset change off in everything and Midi channel is set correctly.... will double check again today but those were the first things I checked.

Not sure what else to do clicking on virtually any button on the rjm w a midi change instruction also goes to the pedal and toggles the 2nd channel... almost like a global thing..

Yep same issue here ... not sure what's going on.
I've sent the message below to chase bliss as well to see if there's something going on with the documentation they provided us.

I've attached my test file as well here... the brothers is set to channel 3.

"hey folks, how are you doing?

So I just got my brothers am pedal and it sounds incredible.
I'm trying to set it up with my RJM midi controller and I'm running into all sorts of issues.

To simplify, I've created a new blank config file on the RJM to avoid mixing-up with any previous programming I had going on.
On this new config file I only have 2 buttons:

button 1 - Channel 1 on/off
for that I'm asking the controller to send a cc 103 toggle between 0 and 1 > the behaviour I'm getting is that it triggers ch 2 (instead of 1) on/off

button 2 - Channel 2 on/off

for that I'm asking the controller to send a cc 102 toggle between 0 and 1 > the behaviour I'm getting is nothing

Perhaps I'm using an older version of the midi manual available on your website?
The only other thing I thought it could be is if I've wired my cable incorrectly but I guess that would result in nothing passing through?

Any ideas or is there anything I can do to help debugging it?
Thanks!"

Looks like there are a couple of mistakes in the config: (1) Channel 2 button is sending to "Device 2" rather than "brothers", and (2) Channel 1 button should use "CC Toggle" instead of "CC Momentary".

thanks for checking the file ... I think I did a bunch of changes and forgot to clean up the test file.
I confirmed with Joel that there was a mistake on the manual - see my post and his reply here: https://www.thegearpage.net/board/i...s-am-analog-man.2636321/page-21#post-40738805

Also - a few interesting things after a bunch of trial and error:
1. I can make the pedal work if I lift the tip from my DIN <> TRS cable (directly from the PBC6x)
2. I can't make it work if I have something like a U6MIDI Pro in between the PBC and the Chase Bliss for some reason (DIN<>DIN from PBC to U6 then DIN <> TRS with tip lifted from U6 to Chase Bliss)
3. I can though make it work if I connect my PBC6x > Fractal VP4 (DIN to mini TRS) > Chase Bliss (mini TRS to mini TRS) but the wiring is slightly different - see image below.

One important point to mention ... previously, when connecting a normal mini TRS cable I was also getting the midi clock runaway loop on the Chase Bliss. Now that I changed the wiring (as below) I do not have any clock issues! o_O

I hope that helps anyone trying to connect these devices together!
